Twofer Tuesday

Joe chose an appropriate shirt for his 33rd birthday dinner on Sunday.

Yesterday, Matt gave me this PBR-branded chapstick, which makes me feel a little weird inside. Luckily, PBR has a great icon base to work from.

Birthday Wrapup

At dinner, I pulled out my phone to take a picture before we started and Ana was all 'no don't that's rude' and I did it anyway. Why? Cuz I needed a picture.

The food was great, and included this dish, which was a beef tartare + some sort of fish roe + parsnip ice cream + a tortilla chip. Don't worry, it was delicious.

After, we went to Bourbon where Patso had done up a custom chalkboard (you've seen one before):

Yes, it says Hermano. "It's happy birthday bro," Patso said. He was right.

And finally, inspired by the thing from yesterday, Ana puts on a recital.

I'm Not Giving Up On For Better or For Horrible.

New one up today.

Anybody feel like coming up with a new template for this thing? I'm bored with this one and don't feel like working on something new.

Fantasy Football: Fantasy This! Pt. 2

Last week, I thought I might have a chance to not be last. I mean, I had dudes named Edgerrin and Anquan playing for me. They scored some points, it seems:

(Let it be known that I have no idea how the scoring system works. But I did learn that if your player doesn't play that week [see BYE], they can't score any points.)

But tell me this: how does Ben Roethlisberger, who has multiple sandwiches named after him, get me negative points this week?

Does that mean that he not only didn't play but when he wasn't playing he did things that were detrimental to his reputation as a player? That's the only explanation I can come up with.

Anyway. This week, I took a drastic measure and "traded" one player for another. I feel that this should give me points just for effort. Also, I sent virtual cans of smack to every member of my league, although I haven't seen any response. My take: they were either not intimidated or they did not check to see if they had been sent any virtual cans of smack.

Old People Wednesday + Dance Lessons

Today is Ana's 30th birthday, which means that we had soup already and are soon going to stuff our torsos full of greek food for a few hours.

In the meantime, do yourself a favor and please enjoy this video, which my sister passed along as "the #1 best video the world has ever seen" and is most likely right. Unfortch the Way International pulled the video from YouTube, so I can't embed it here; please don't let this stop you from watching what can be best described as Trio Sings Inspirational Song Set In Faux German Village With Suspect Choreography While Drummer is Relegated to Flower Bed.

Review of New Beer II

Who doesn't want to know what MGD 64 tastes like? Commies. With that in mind, we cracked open a promo bottle last night after chilling it appropriately on ice for approximately 9 hours.

Upon first take, the aroma was distinctly urinesque, while the taste was distinctly light-beerish+soda watery. Interestingly, no ABV information is available anywhere. This likely means that this is the first in a long line of beer-flavored energy waters, with no actual alcohol content.

Verdict: don't smell first.

Wedding Photos + Pegacornicat Complete

Zipcar failed for the first time on Saturday, kind of spectacularly, when we arrived to get the car for the wedding and the thing had a flat. Normally it wouldn't be an issue but I was wearing my Zegna joint and it was hot so changing it was out of the question. Luckily there was a cab in the parking lot, and I noticed that he was wearing a propeller hat.

The short story (considering that it was a long wedding and even longer reception) was that it was a good time.

We went to Black Cat afterward, in our finery, which seemed like a good idea but likely wasn't, since we had been at it since like noon and it was now late at night, probably. I really don't know what time it was.

Nor do I know that Chad America would say Good Morrow. It just came to me.

Then today back to Richmond for completion of phase one of left arm. Look!

Review of New Macro-Craft Beer +++

We got some of Anheuser Busch's Budweiser American Ale before it is in stores next month, and I tried it last night.

The idea is that it's a "craft" beer, which would mean that it is brewed in small batches with quality ingredients. (It's not.)

Verdict: mix Yuengling with Sam Adams, then take away the moderately positive things about both those beers, and you've got BAA.

Recommendation: Keep the label like it is in this picture, and more people will buy it.

New For Better or for Horrible up.

Also, if you're bored with reading, you can see all the photos I've ever posted here.

Cleveland is Moderately Exciting; Frizzesh Fizzootball Loses in Week 1

Here is the quick recap of Baby Baptism 2008: three adults on the altar taking pictures of baby; one adult in pew taking pictures of adults on altar.

But really, considering that this is the baby, can you really blame them? Come on.

Then there was a big table full of meat. It's like they knew we were coming.

Then to a place called the Treehouse, which has a big mural of the Guinness bird on the wall.

Fantasy Football got off with a bang, it seems, when my team (Frizzesh Fizzootball) finished tied for 9th in a league of 10 teams. Translation: not really in last. But it does require that some drastic measures be taken. Translation: look to see who is on team, make random decisions about who will be starting next week, possibly for to non-football related reasons.

Of course, losing does not keep one from sending a virtual can of smack to every other team in the league:

Let's See if We Can't Save America with this Phlog

And So Begins the iPhone Photo Dumps

I hadn't believed it when I read about it, but it seems that in fact the crips are invading DC:

I will say for the record that I didn't know that crips threw boomerangs.
